Jan 5 – 28: Regular Thursday & Friday classes from 4:00-8:00pm; Saturday classes from 10:00am-2:00pm
Jan 26 – 28: Master classes (as assigned)*
No classes Feb 2 – 4 due to CMS recitals
Feb 3 & 4: Winter Recital – Friday recital at 7pm, Saturday recital at 11am. (CMS Auditorium)
[Every CMS student is required to perform solo in one recital per year.]
Feb 9 – 11: Regular Thursday & Friday classes from 4:00-8:00pm; Saturday classes from 10:00am-2:00pm
No classes Feb 16 – 18 due to CMS concert
Feb 17: Required Program for all CMS students – “Evening of Jazz” by Gregg Gelb
[Students earn 2 points for attending this program. Each student must earn a total of 4 points during the school year to remain enrolled at CMS. Additional points can be earned by attending professional performances in the community, many of which provide free tickets to CMS.]
Feb 23 – Mar 10: Regular Thursday & Friday classes from 4:00-8:00pm; Saturday classes from 10:00am-2:00pm
Feb 24 - Benefit Concert for CMS by Raleigh Jazz Orchestra featuring selected advanced students. (CMS Auditorium, radio broadcast on WSHA 88.9 FM)

Mar 15 – 17: Make-up lessons due to teacher cancellations or for inclement-weather days

Apr 21: Bach & Roll Casino Night fundraiser to benefit CMS - The Mahler Fine Art gallery (7 – 11pm)

May 11 & 12: Spring Recital – Friday performances at 6:15pm & 7:30pm; Saturday performances at 11am & 12:00 noon (CMS Auditorium)

* Master Classes are group sessions taught by CMS instructors. Each student will play one piece of music while other students observe. After playing their piece, each student receives feedback on improving their performance. Thursday and Friday Master Classes are held from 4:00-6:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm; Saturday Master Classes are held from 10:00am-12:00 noon & 12:00 noon to 2:00pm.Every CMS student is required to perform in one Master Class per year. Instructors will arrange with students which Master Class they should attend.
