[title size=”2″]Welcome to Community Music School[/title]

Community Music School of Raleigh provides weekly music lessons to Wake County students with limited financial means. We are committed to providing high-quality, individualized music instruction to our students at a cost of only $1 per lesson. Our teachers are passionate about music and bring out the best in our students.

As funding and resources allow, students are selected on the basis of interest in the program, musical aptitude, personal interview and financial need. Currently, we are able to serve about 100 students each year. Our programs run on an academic calendar, with a fall semester from September to December and a spring semester from January to May.

We expect a high level of commitment from our students and we see the results of their training, practice and dedication when they perform for us in their annual recital.

Registration for the 2016-2017 school year is now open. Registration for summer camps is open until June 1.

In addition to our core program of providing private music lessons to children, this year we are launching two new programs: Music Technology and Musical Theater. These classes will provide experiential learning opportunities for kids in other areas of music education. Students do not need to be enrolled in private music lessons in order to participate in these new programs. Applications for the Music Technology and Musical Theater classes will be accepted through July 15, and more information can be found on the program pages.
