NEW! Musical Theater Program

The Musical Theater Program at Community Music School is offered in partnership with Right on Cue Kids Theater. Kids will experience musical theater from all facets of production and performance, and will perform a staged musical for friends, family and community members at the end of the school year.

Students will meet weekly to learn about musical theater performance and production through first-hand experience and coaching in singing, dancing, acting, and theater tech.

Opportunities for participation are available for elementary, middle and high school students. There is no cost to participate. Eligibility and registration requirements are consistent with those of other CMS programs.

Topics covered will include:

  • The audition process
  • The rehearsal process
  • Coaching and exercises in singing, dancing and acting
  • Terminology of the theater and how to read a script
  • Stage presence and performing for an audience
  • Understanding theater tech
